Just as looking in a mirror stimulates a part of our brain that questions what others think of us and what we think of ourselves, the internet appears to function as a kind of collective mirror — urging us to contemplate our nature through its reflective substance.

  Fulfilling a similar purpose to the religions of past, this rhetorically omnipotent/omniscient bundle of wires and cables and servers and signals connects us beyond our immediate physical experience, always and forever.
